Room 13 - Making Playdough
Room 13 decided to make some new play dough.
Here is the recipe we followed:
Romes, Vaipeka and Tristan mixed extra flour into the dough because it was too sticky.
Daerue, Bellamaya and Ale wore plastic gloves so the food colouring didn't stain their hands.
Once our play dough was all soft and squishy, we all made cookies, people and critters.
We have put our new play dough into plastic bags so it stays soft.

Rm 11's Lemonade
In Rm 11 we are learning to write different procedural writings. One type of procedural writing is a recipe. So we decided to use Miss E's lemons from home to make a delicious lemonade. Check out some of our pictures and Tron's recipe he wrote:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of lemon juice
- 1 cup of sugar
- 5 cups of cold water
- 2 cups of boiled water
Utensils:
- Kettle
- Juice jug
- Chopping board
- Measuring cup
- Knife
Method:
Firstly get 1 cup of sugar and pour the cup with the sugar into a juice jug. Next you pour the 2 cups of boiling water into the jug very slowly and mix it with your mixing spoon. The hot water will make the sugar dissolve. The sugar will need to be like a syrup.
After cut the lemons you have into halves. When your done grab 1 half of a lemon and put your hand over the measuring cup and squeeze it and the seeds will land in your hands. Finally tip in the juice and give it a a good mix with your mixing spoon. Now your lemonade is ready to be cooled. When it is cool it is drinkable. That's how you make lemonade.

Room 11's Bug Hunt
In the morning of Wednesday 16th May room 11 came into class to find a special letter on the board from a Nature Detective named Denzel. He needed our help to find some minibeasts and insects in our school.
So we went out into the garden to find some. we had to write down what we saw and take pictures so we could use them later.
We found lots of things. Have a look!
We Miss E printed of the photos and we had to write about the insects we found.
e.g.
- What color is it?
- How many legs does it have?
- How big is it compared to a 20c coin?
- Does it have wings?
- Where did you find it?
- How does it move?
- Is it eating anything?
